by Elmar Trefz Project DescriptionThe Wave Pillow is connected wirelessly to a standard computer with internet access. The computer runs Wave Pillow software that controls a vibrator inside the pillow itself.The software creates a global map on the computer screen from which a surfer can pick her surf spot of choice. After selecting a location the computer will automatically read in info about the surf level at that location from a Wave Buoy site. If the surf is high enough, it will fire up the vibrator in the pillow and wake you up so you don't miss the good surf. Otherwise, it does nothing and lets you keep getting that much needed sleep. Elmar used Teleo hardware along with both Flash and Max/MSP software to create prototypes for the Wave Pillow. Check www.wavepillow.com for more info. |
