Anyone have any idea when firmware 2.0 will be complete (or at least a beta available)?  I read about firmware 2.0 from the Maker Faire '08 post http://www.makingthings.com/news-items/maker-faire-08 and I'm very interested in all of the major changes that were planned.

It'll be a little while (ie, no release date set), as those changes are quite significant. There's a 1.5 revision coming soon with some nice updates - as always, you can have a look at the svn timeline to see changes as they're committed.
